Encoder Products - AGVs (autonomous guided vehicles) and AMRs (autonomous mobile robots) require solutions that may not exist. Encoder Products will utilize its own engineering to meet customer requirements. A recent application required 2 encoders mounted on one shaft.
Redundant encoders are the simple, economical solution to an application where safety is paramount. With the use of redundant encoders, an application must rely on different technologies – even when using one safety controller – so if external environmental, mechanical, or electrical factors cause the failure of one encoder, the other encoder will continue to provide feedback. Whereas safety encoders are large, expensive and difficult to work around, customized redundant solutions are more economical and mechanically designed to drop into your application. EPC provides customized redundant packages, offering the diversity of different technologies, components, and designs with two encoders to ensure that your application has the reliable motion feedback it needs to keep working.
ASO Safety - Bumpers and Edges
ASO Safety bumpers are a customizable 4-sided Safety switch. Covered with artificial leather, ASO bumpers can be ordered; in any size, in any shape, in any color, and customized with manufacturer’s LOGO or company name.
If a robot end-effector or AGV / AMR were to impact an object with as little as 6.74 lbf. the internal safety circuit would open, be detected in micro-seconds by a Safety Relay, then programming would STOP all motion.
ASO Edges can also be ordered in different sizes and can sense impacts of 10 to 15 lbf.
Weather resistance Edges are great for the bottom of a door, the side of a machine, or AGV where other technologies are far to expensive and just don’t make sense.
